Anthony R. Nettis, age 73, of Hernando, FL, passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 10, 2017 while under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Anthony was born on January 15, 1944 in Bronx, N.Y. to the late Nicholis and Felicia (Carnesecchi) Nettis. On September 24, 1966 he married Donna (Bucki) Nettis, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Prior to retirement, Anthony was employed by Western Electric / AT&T as a Purchasing Manager for 24 years. He also owned and operated the Greenwood General Store in Greenwood Village, IL. Anthony and Donna made Citrus Hills their home in November of 2004 after relocating from Greenwood Village, IL. He was previous director of Citizens Patrol (CP7), a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a parishioner of St. Scholastica Catholic Church, Lecanto, FL. Anthony was a “people person” who truly enjoyed visiting and socializing with others. He also enjoyed cooking and dancing in his free time.
In addition to his wife Donna, those left to mourn Anthony’s passing include his sons: Anthony Nettis of Tampa, FL and Andrew Nettis of Genoa City, WI; sister, Palma Logan and her husband Charlie of Bronx, N.Y.; grandchildren: Chelsea and Madeline Nettis of Genoa City, WI; nephew, Robert Holt of Scarsdale, N.Y.; nieces: Karen Logan of Walden, N.Y. and Nicole Puzzio of Bronx, N.Y.
A celebration of life memorial service for Anthony is scheduled for Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Father Claudius Mganga of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church officiating. Friends may visit with Anthony’s family beginning at 1:00 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Arrangements under the direction of the Chas E.
