Carole Ann Watkins, age 74, of Inverness, FL, passed away December 5, 2017 at The Grove Health and Rehab Center, Hernando. Carole was born June 19, 1943 in Salem, OH to the late Clarence and Nellie (Dickey) Noel. She worked as a Claims Adjuster in the Commercial Insurance Industry throughout her professional career.
On January 6, 1979, she married the love of her life, Daniel “Don” Watkins, with whom she shared 38 wonderful years of marriage. Carole resided in Floral City for 10 years during the 1970’s and returned to Citrus County 3 years ago from Cosby, TN. She attended worship services at the Floral City United Methodist Church in the past. Carole is a former member of the American Business Woman’s Association and the secretary of the Inverness Village Condominiums. In her spare time, Carole enjoyed decorating and had a great appreciation for art. She will be remembered for the great love and affection she had for her husband Don and her family.
In addition to her loving husband Don, those left to mourn Carole’s passing include her stepson, Jeffrey C. Watkins of Elizabethtown, TN; sisters: Martha Burns of Floral City, FL, Nancy Fiala of Brook Park, OH; nieces and nephews: Chris Burns of Hernando, FL, Shannon Burns-DeMilt of Floral City, FL, Vickie Devine of Brook Park, OH, Jeff Fiala of Brook Park, OH, Bridget Fiala of Ocala, FL, Mike Gonter of Floral City, FL; and several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Carole was preceded in death by stepson, Donald Watkins, sister, Janet Gonter and nephews, Bob Davner and Billy Fiala. Cremation care is under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
