William “Norman” York, Jr., 77, Inverness, passed away December 4, 2017 following a short illness in Citrus Memorial Hospital. Norman was born in San Diego, CA on March 24, 1940 to the late William N. and Vida (Moberley) York, Sr. and came to Florida in 1966. He was the former owner and founder of York Bail Bonds in Inverness and a very active member of the First United Methodist Church of Inverness. He served our country during Vietnam in the U.S. Army.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Dorothy (Unverferth) York; and his son, William Norman York, III, Inverness, FL. He was predeceased by his sister, Deeann Waters who resided in Lawrence, KS.
Graveside services with military honors will be conducted on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 2:30 PM from Florida National Cemetery with Floral City V.F.W. Post #7122 and Dr. Donald Pratt officiating. Friends may call at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home Friday to visit the family from 12:30 until 1:30 when the procession will depart for the cemetery.
