Albert Pietro Colasanti, 92 of Inverness, FL, and formerly of Weymouth, MA, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 in the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast.
Al was born on March 26, 1925 in Weymouth, MA to John and Antonietta Colasanti. He was one of six children. His wife of 64 years, Elva “Tootie” Colasanti preceded him in death. Al is survived by his five children: Linda (Michael) Federico of Rockland, MA; Donna (Robert) Hancsarick of Johnston, RI; John (Susan) Colasanti of Lecanto, FL; Albert Jr. (Pamela) Colasanti of Jensen Beach, FL; and Doreen (Lamar) Budd of Inverness, FL; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and his sisters, Catherine DeLuca and Marion DelVecchio both of Weymouth, MA. Al also was preceded in death by his three brothers: Rinaldo, Biaggio and John and his infant grandson, Craig.
Al and Tootie were lifelong residents of Weymouth before retiring to Florida in 1977. Al was part owner of the family owned Weymouth Trucking Corp. and the East Weymouth Bowl-a-Way, for many years.
Al, or Papa, as he was known by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, loved his close knit family and spent as much time as he could with them, during holidays, birthdays, reunions and other family events. He was cherished by all and will be missed.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 9:00 AM. Entombment will follow at the Fountains Memorial Park in Homosassa. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast or to the Alzheimer’s Association, which his beloved wife suffered with preceding her death in December 2012.
