Barbara Alice Brown, age 85, of Lecanto, FL, passed away November 10, 2017 at Superior Residences of Lecanto, FL. Barbara was born on May 20, 1932 in Boston, MA to the late Harry and Gladys (Hooker) Newton. She was married to Frederick Brown until his passing on March 16, 2014. Barbara and Frederick made Citrus County their home in 1994 after relocating from St. Petersburg, FL. She was employed as a beauty operator for a number of years. Barbara enjoyed music, playing golf, spending time with her family and going to the beach.
Those left to mourn Barbara’s passing are her sons: Frederick Brown, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Tarpon Springs, FL, Brian and his wife Julie of Fort Collins, CO; daughter, Deborah Riggs of Beverly Hills, FL; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by several brothers and 1 sister.
Barbara’s family plan to hold a celebration of life memorial service for her at the TPC Tampa Bay Golf Course in Lutz, FL on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 5:00 PM. Cremation care is under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
