Josephine M. Bonura, 97, Lecanto passed away November 8, 2017 at her daughter’s home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus & The Nature Coast. Josephine was born in Birmingham, AL on March 19, 1920 to the late Nomina and Pump (Scalaci) Damico and came here in 1972 from Brooklyn, NY. She was a seamstress and member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed working in her garden.
Left to mourn her loss are three daughters, Angela Nicolini and husband Rick of Rocky Hill, CT; Josephine “Jo” Gramling and husband Richard of Ocala, and Vivian Litterello and husband Nick of Lecanto; 2 sisters, Matilda Amico and Frances D’Alaisi; 5 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Norman Bonura on Nov 1, 1993.
Friends may call on Friday, Nov 10th from 6-8 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home where there will be a prayer service offered at 7:30 PM. Additional services and burial will be under the direction of Johnston-Wellwood Funeral Home in Lindenhurst, NY
