John C. Dobbs, 95 of Inverness, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, in Lecanto. John was born on August 30, 1922 in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, to the late John and Margaret (Dunlap) Dobbs. He came to Citrus County in 1989 from Mayville, New York.
John was a retired marketing manager with Westinghouse for over 40 years. He served our Country in the Army during WWII. He was formerly a Mason in Pittsburgh, PA; a member of the American Legion in Mayville, NY. He enjoyed growing vegtables in his garden, spending time with his family and fishing on Lake Chautauqua in Mayville.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Janet Dobbs; his children: John W. (Lorraine) Dobbs of Ft. Pierce, FL, David Dobbs of Pittsburgh, PA, Sharon (Landy) Dowler of Pittsburgh, PA, Judith Dobbs of Ashburn, VA, Donna Yocum of Chambersburgh, PA, Laurie (Kenny) Baldwin of Clarksburg, TN, Pamela Dunay of Tennessee and Sandy Smith of Virginia; step children: Michelle (John) Mosher, Sinclairville of NY, Eric (Eileen) Masiker of Stockton, NY, Sonya Richter of Connecticut, Mark (Sue) Graziano of Mayville, NY and John Graziano of LaGrange, IN; and a great many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Evelyn Lucille Cooper.
