Robert Clarence Trawick, 79, Inverness passed away November 4, 2017 at the Hospice of Citrus & The Nature Coast in Lecanto. Mr. Trawick was born in Meridian, MS on July 2, 1938 to the late Clarence and Jewel (Swain) Trawick and moved here in 1997 from South Paris, Maine.
He was a retired executive for Prudential Insurance Company with over 30 years of service and went on to work for Mass Mutual for 3 years after retiring from Prudential. Robert served our nation in the U.S. Army. He was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Inverness and active in the Masonic Lodge. He was a Life Member and Past Master of Neighbor Masonic Lodge, Homewood, IL; also affiliated with Springs Masonic Lodge in Homosassa, Oxford Masonic Lodge, and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 168 and Chapter 65 in Inverness (Past Patron). A 32nd Degree Mason, he held memberships in the Scottish and York Rites, the Shriners, and Marian Grange in Bellview, IL. Other memberships included American Legion Post 77 (Past Commander) in Inverness. He was a member of the advisory council for the Stanley Garrity Chapter of DeMolay International in Tinley Park, IL and a recipient of the DeMolay International Cross of Honor. Robert was also an active member of the Jaycees in Honolulu, HI.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Bernice (Cummings) “Bunny” Trawick; 2 children, Robert C. Trawick Jr. and his wife Joyce Trawick of New Gloucester, ME and Wanda Trawick and her husband Harry Slepian of New York, NY; 1 brother, Dr. Donald Trawick, Midlothian, VA; 1 sister, Shirley Gnau of Dayton, OH; 1 grandchild, Megan and 2 great grandchildren, Kylie and Kailyn. Robert was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Harvey.
A celebration of Life Memorial service is planned for Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness with Reverend Ron Pfeifer officiating. Friends may call at the church beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Robert’s urn will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
