David E. Cummings, Sr., 84, of Inverness, passed away September 1, 2017 in Citrus Memorial Hospital. Mr Cummings was born in Salem, NJ on February 10, 1933 to the late Edward T. and Thelma (Press) Cummings.
David moved here in 1994 from Pennsville, NJ. He retired from the E. I. DuPont Corporation as a Maintenace Foreman after 41 years of service. He was a member of Inverness Golf & Country Club and the Presbyterian Faith. He served our country during Korea in the U.S. Navy on the USS Tarawa.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Barry T. Cummings of Salisbury, NC; Rodney Cummings of Damascus, MD; Allen J. Cummings and wife, Lisa of Pennsville, NJ ; Kelly Zane and husband, Scott of Murrells Inlet, SC ; 16 grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Carolyn Cummings December 10, 2014. They were married for 49 years.
