Robert A. Kegel

Robert A. Kegel, age 79, of Homosassa, FL passed away at his residence on August 13, 2017. Robert was born on September 7, 1937 in Sandwich, IL to the late Herbert and Lucille (Harger) Kegel.

He was married to Lareen (Vickery) with whom he just celebrated 60 years of marriage in January. Robert was a Mechanical Engineer in the HVAC Industry and made Citrus County, FL his home 14 years ago after relocating from Scottsdale, AZ.

He was a member of the Rotary Club for a number of years and a past Rotary Club President while residing in Colorado. Robert was also a member of ASHRAE – American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers. In his spare time he enjoyed photography and loved the outdoors. While residing in Colorado, he climbed all 54 of the 14,000 foot mountains of that state. Robert was very proud of that accomplishment. Additionally, he was a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and had earned his MBA from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL.

In addition to his wife Lareen, those left to mourn Robert’s passing include his son, John and his wife Sandy of New Berlin, WI; daughters: Brenda O’Connor and her husband Patrick of Naples, FL, Diane Holbert and her husband Chris of Parker, CO; and grandchildren: Sam Kegel, Victor Holbert and Carson Holbert. Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Swanson.

Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
