Catherine Criscitiello Rose, age 85, of Inverness, FL, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 while under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Catherine was born on January 20, 1932 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Walter and Mary (Dente) Martorello.
She made Citrus County, FL her home in 1966 after relocating from Deer Park, N.Y. Catherine was married to Tony Criscitiello for 46 years until his passing on January 1, 1996. She then married Harry Rose on March 30, 2002 with whom she shared 15 years of marriage. A Catholic by faith, Catherine taught the Catholic Christian Doctrine to youngsters while residing in New York and went on to become a very active parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness. She was a former Citrus Memorial Hospital volunteer, a lifetime member of Inverness VFW Post #4337 and an associate member of the Inverness Elks Lodge #2522. Catherine was a beautician and hairdresser throughout her life and was known for being a very fashionable and stylish woman. She enjoyed singing Karaoke at both the VFW and Elks Lodge and loved spending time with her family, whom she adored. Catherine also loved to clean house and was known to have floors that were clean enough for you to eat off. She also had an extensive knowledge of Citrus County that she was very willing to share with anyone who was interested.
In addition to her loving husband Harry, those left to mourn Catherine’s passing are her daughters: Betty Guin and her husband Wayne of Brooksville, FL, Diane Leohner and her husband Wayne of Satellite Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance is planned for Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 3:00 PM from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Deacon Steve Kurylowicz of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church officiating. The family will receive friends in visitation beginning at 2:00 PM until the hour of service. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Inverness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Catherine’s memory to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
