Alma L. Parks, age 63, of Lecanto, FL passed away at her residence on July 16, 2017 while surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Alma was born on January 19, 1954 in Brimfield, OH to the late Elias and Claudia (Rankin) Streets.
She made Citrus County her home in 1976 after relocating from Ohio and worked as a fabricator for Metal Industries, Inc. for over 35 years. On October 20, 1985 she married Kenneth Parks with whom she shared 31 years of marriage. Alma was very active in her children’s activities growing up and was always willing to help out with the FFA, JROTC and Girl Scouts. She was also an active “dance mom” who would help out backstage, sell tickets to recitals and drive girls to their lessons. In her spare time, Alma enjoyed traveling with her husband and crocheting. She will be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband Kenneth, those left to mourn Alma’s passing are her son, Ken Parks and his wife Theresa of Lecanto, FL; daughter, Sarah Burns and her husband Jason of Crystal River, FL; sister, Dottie Floyd and her husband Jim of Tallmadge, OH; brother, Tommy Streets of Ft. Myers, FL; and grandchildren: Bellona, Catherine, Joshua, River, Sasha, Cole, Scarlett.
In lieu of flowers, Alma’s family requests memorial donations be made in her memory to either Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park, 4150 S. Suncoast Blvd, Homosassa, FL 34446 or Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
