Shirley L. Kelly, 86 of Inverness, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto. Shirley was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on October 25, 1930 to the late Russell and Marguerite Dixon, and came to Citrus County in 1986 from there. She was employed at an electronics factory and was a member of the Grace Bible Fellowship Church.
Shirley loved to knit and crochet and she was always a very sociable person. She was friendly with everyone.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: John Kelly of Plantsville, Connecticut and Linda Hostetler of Watertown, Connecticut, her brother, Everett Dixon and sister, Erma Dixon both of Canada; 5 grandchildren: John Lupucy, Jessica Gerra, Marissa Brown, Stacey Camp, and Russell Kelly; 6 great grandchildren: Maya Hostetler, Isabella Brown, Liliana Brown, Joe Camp, Aidan Gerra, and Daphne Gerra; and her good friend Ruth Frum of Inverness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John J. Kelly in 2002, her granddaughter, Jennifer in 1981, her brother, Dennis and sister, Ginny.
Shirley’s urn will be interred beside her husband at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at a later date. Private arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory of Inverness.
