Joseph Robert Madden, age 82, of Inverness, FL passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Joseph was born on January 26, 1935 in Dayton, OH to the late Earl T. and Anna C. (Sullivan) Madden.
He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. Joseph met Anne Dunklin at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Clearwater, FL in 1955. They were married on September 12, 1959 and shared 57 years of loving marriage together.
Joseph and Anne made Citrus County their home in 1999 after relocating from Largo, FL. A Catholic by faith, he was a parishoner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and a member of the Citrus Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 10 years. Joseph was a Master Gardener and had worked for the IFAS University of Florida Extension Agency in Lecanto, FL. Joseph was a dedicated Gators fan. In addition to his loving wife Anne, Joseph will be mourned by his son, Steve Madden of Inverness, FL.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is planned for Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Fr Tim Cummings of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM on the afternoon of the service.
Joseph’s urn will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
