Richard “Dick” Warren Colvin, Sr. 97, Inverness passed away at home on April 11, 2017. Dick was born in June 5, 1919 in Oak Park,IL to the late Edward A. and Pearl (Mead) Colvin and came here in 1968 from Wisconsin.
He was a retired Personnel Director for Trent Tube, Inc. in East Troy, WI. After moving to Florida, he was employed at the Withlacoochee Technical College as an Occupational Therapist, and a sales representative for Brown’s Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth.
Dick served our country in the U.S. Navy. Active in the community, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Citrus Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid Chicago White Sox , Green Bay Packers, NASCAR, and Florida Gators fan. He and his wife, Anita, are 49 year members of the First United Methodist Church of Inverness. He also was a member of the Floral City VFW Post 7122.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 75 years, Anita Martinson Colvin, Inverness; 2 children, Richard Colvin, Jr and wife, Stephanie of New Berlin, WI; Vicki Martin and her husband, Butch of Hernando; 6 grandchildren: Kara Elson, Cory (Meg) Colvin, Joel Martin, Tony (Leslie) Colvin, Travis (Erica) Colvin, Olivia Colvin; 10 great grandchildren: Regan Elson, Kyrsten Elson, Isabel Colvin, Osbourne Colvin, Owen Colvin, Lucy Colvin, Benjamin Colvin, Claire Colvin, Nora Colvin, and Beau Colvin.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Tuesday,April 18th at 1:00 PM from the Chas E Davis Funeral Home with Rev Sarah Campbell, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Military Burial Honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the hour of service
