Colleen E. Meahl, 86, of Inverness, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at New Horizon Assisted Living Facility in Inverness. Colleen was born April 3, 1930 in Dante, Virginia to Roy and Rosa Hall and came to Citrus County in 1968 from Alexandria, VA. She retired as Head Bookkeeper and Assistant Cashier from the Bank of Inverness with 23 years of service, and was a charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where she truly enjoyed working in the nursery and church office. She was also a school volunteer at Floral City Elementary.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Jeffery Meahl and his wife Kay of Inverness, Gregory Meahl and his wife Linda of Ocala; her sister, Peggy Jones and her husband Kline of Inverness; 6 grandchildren, Rebekah, A.J., Landon and his wife Cassidy, Gerren, Chase, and Carys, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Calvin Meahl, on May 28, 2000; 2 brothers, Cecil and Ron Hall; 2 sisters, Louise Consorti and Evelyn Amburgy.
Considering Psalm 116:15, precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints, a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Inverness with Pastors Greg Kell and Darrell Reneau officiating. Private burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1100 W. Highland Blvd., Inverness, FL 34452 or Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness.
