June O. Yohn, 86, resident of Princeton, IL and Floral City, FL died February 27, 2017 at Arbor Trail Rehab and Nursing Center. June was born in Princeton, IL on Aug 7, 1930 to the late Ellis and Ruth (Morris) Conkling and had been coming to Florida as a seasonal resident for 40 years.
June was employed as a bank teller back in Illinois for 20 years and was of the Catholic Faith. While in Florida, she attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She and her husband pitched horseshoes as a hobby in several states and Canada. She excelled to the extent that she won 2 World Class Horseshoe Tournaments, one in Greenville, OH and he other in Springfield, IL. In her spare time, she and Frank took several children “under their wing” and guided them to productive lives.
June is survived by her husband of 66 years, Frank Yohn of Princeton IL; her sister, Barbara Heuer of Henry, IL; She lost an infant daughter, Sandra K. Yohn in 1952.
Funeral services will be from the Grant Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton, IL Friday at 10:30 AM . Burial will follow in Forrest Hill Cemetery, Wyanet, IL. Visitation from Grant Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home was in charge of Florida arrangements.
