Matilda F. “Sis” Wampler, 85 of Inverness, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto, under the loving care of her family. “Sis” was born on October 1, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA to the late George and Matilda (Dewes) Smith. She and her husband, Herb came to Citrus County 30 years ago from Westchester, PA.

“Sis” was a retired bookkeeper for a construction company and owned and operated “Creations Ceramics Shop” here locally. She enjoyed crafting and adult coloring books and was Episcopal by faith.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 37 years, Herbert F. Wampler; daughter, Linda J. Frohmander of Lakeland, FL, son, John “Jack” Frohmander, Jr and his wife, Lana Gretkowski, of Myakka City, FL; grandchildren: Jacquelyn Nicole Daton and Brian McMichael and great grandchildren: Phoenix, Conner, Destin and Brandon.

Graveside services for Mrs. Wampler will be conducted on Tuesday, February 28th at 2:30 P.M. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. with friends and family meeting at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Arrangements under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
