Gloria Lee Snyir, age 86, of Lecanto, FL passed away on February 14, 2017 at Diamond Ridge in Lecanto, FL. Gloria was born on July 10, 1930 in Toledo, OH to the late Chester and Lillian Garey.
She met her late husband, Steve M. Snyir when she auditioned for and was later hired as a vocalist for his 16 piece orchestra. Gloria and Steve shared 53 years of loving marriage until his passing in October of 2002.
Gloria worked as a buyer for a department store throughout her life and made Citrus County Florida her home in 1994 after relocating from Lambertville, MI. A Catholic by faith, she attended worship services at Our Lady of Fatima, Inverness. Gloria was an excellent painter and especially enjoyed painting portraits of people and also pets. She also enjoyed working in her yard and cooking. She especially enjoyed cooking holiday dinners for her friends and residents of Stoneridge Landing.
Those left to mourn Gloria’s passing and cherish her memory are her sons: Gregory Snyir of Toledo, OH, Stephen Snyir of Fountain Inn, S.C. and Ron Snyir of Phoenix, AZ. Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
