Mary Frances Messer, 103, Inverness passed away January 8, 2017 at the Hospice of Citrus & The Nature Coast in Lecanto. Mrs. Messer was born on August 6, 1913 in Wendell, NC to the late Kemp B. and Hattie (Baker) Ewing and came to Citrus County in 1982 from Clearwater, FL.
She taught Elementary School during her younger years but her true love was being a homemaker and raising her family. She attended Riverside Christian Fellowship.
Left to mourn her loss are two children, Ed Messer and his wife Sue of Hernando, FL; Sandra Ewing of Inverness; 2 grandchildren, Lynda Rigoulot and John Messer; 6 great grandchildren, John Turner Messer, Madison Messer, Riley Messer, and Blakely Messer; Collin and Tyler Rigoulot; Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Messer in 1980; also her 3 brothers, Battle, James, and Fleming Ewing; and her grandson, Jim Haynes.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 3:00 PM from the Chas. E Davis Funeral Home with Pastor J. D. Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow Thursday morning at 10:00 AM at Fero Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the hour of service.
