Ruth Mae Sowder, 89, of Inverness, FL passed away January 7, 2017 at Arbor Trail Rehab & Nursing in Inverness. She was born in Shawnee, OK on December 13, 1927 to the late Albert and Beatrice (Rayborne) Herron.
Ruth was a homemaker, and arrived in this area in 1991, coming from Quakertown, PA. She loved crafting and sewing, and enjoyed baking, cooking, and reading.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Joseph G. Sowder. Ruth is also the last surviving member of a family of 10 children. She is survived by her children Joseph G. Sowder, Jr and his wife Beverly of New Port Richey, FL, and Susan Hazelton and her husband David of Inverness; and grandchildren Lisa Mastropieto, Lori Barber, and Leslie Kelly; and 6 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
