Stanley E. Moore, age 83, of Inverness, FL passed away on December 29, 2016 while under the care of HPH Hospice in New Port Richey. Stanley was born on October 16, 1933 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late John S. and Marie F (Kelly) Moore. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. After his military service, he went on to become a Building Official for City Government.
In April of 2004, Stanley married Gail Edelman. He and Gail also made Citrus County their home in 2004 after relocating from Pinellas County. A Catholic by faith, Stanley attended worship services at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness. He is a former member of the Knights of Columbus and was also a friend of Bill W. Stanley enjoyed watching golf and football on television and was especially a fan of the Bucs and Giants. He enjoyed fishing and loved to take his grandchildren fishing and spend time with them. Stanley was technically inclined and enjoyed working with computers in any aspect, including taking them apart and putting them back together again.
In addition to his loving wife Gail, those left to mourn Stanley’s passing and cherish his precious memory include his sons: John S. Moore of Rocky Top, TN, William A. Moore and his wife Susan of Woodstock, GA, Andrew Moore of Burnsville, N.C., Michael R. Moore of Woodstock, GA; daughters: Elizabeth M. Moore of Mobile, AL, Christine M. Cook and her husband Jim of Novi, MI, Mary Kay Gaver and her husband Larry of North Richland Hills, TX; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for Monday, January 2, 2017 at 9:00 AM from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness, with Father Tim Cummings, Celebrant. Stanley’s urn will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM where full military honors will be rendered by Inverness VFW #4337 Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
