Mary E. Stueber, age 89, of Inverness, FL passed away on December 18, 2016 while under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Lecanto, FL. Mary was born on January 6, 1927 in Rahway, NJ to the late Daniel and Sarah (Healy) Rommel. On September 21, 1947 she married Frank Stueber with whom she shared 36 years of marriage until his passing in 1983.
Mary had a great love for children and worked as a Teacher throughout her lifetime. She taught at St. Mary’s in Rahway, N.J. and St. Theresa’s in Kenilworth, N.J. In 1985, she made Citrus County her home after relocating from her hometown of Rahway, N.J. A Catholic by faith, she attended St. Mary’s in Rahway, N.J. and worship services at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness, FL. Mary greatly enjoyed playing Bingo, was very crafty and enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She happily passed her sewing and crocheting skills on to children over the years. In the 1980’s she was a Nanny for many families and was one to stay busy. Mary never sat still unless she was crocheting.
Those left to mourn Mary’s passing and cherish her memory are sons: Fred Stueber (Pam) of Rahway, N.J., Jim Stueber (Colleen) of Summerfield, N.J.; daughters: Marybeth Jones (Bill) of Helena, MT, Terry Maleski (Mark) of Helena, MT, Karen Schall (Ray) of Rahway, N.J., Nancy Presley (Taryn) of Plainfield, N.J., Carol White (Rob) of Linden, N.J.; twin sister, Betty Adams of Inverness, FL; 15 grandchildren: Michael, Shawn, Casey, Adam, Luke, Kristen, Brittany, Michael, Jamie, Christopher, Daniel, Kayla, Cameron, Sierra, Jasmine; and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her loving husband, Mary was preceded in death by sons: Frank and Tom Stueber; brothers: Charlie and Dan; and sisters: Sarah and Julia.
The Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL is assisting the family with private cremation arrangements.
