Ronnie L. Stokes, age 75, of Beverly Hills, FL passed away December 10, 2016 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Ronnie was born on November 11, 1941 to the late Howard Coates and Dorothy June (Kelley) Stokes. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Special Forces from 1960 to 1962.

On March 23, 1963 Ronnie married Marilyn Johnson with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. He and Marilyn made Citrus County their home in 1977 after relocating from Hollywood, FL and attended worship services at Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church in Lecanto. An Electrician by trade, Ronnie was a member of the IBEW Local Union #349. In his spare time he loved saltwater fishing and boating. Ronnie also enjoyed gardening and especially liked growing vegetables for his family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife Marilyn, those left to mourn Ronnie’s passing are his son, Eric Stokes and his wife Ann of Inverness, FL; daughters: Dawn Stanley and her husband Patrick of Bradenton, FL, Valorie Stokes-Hayes of Inverness, FL; brothers: Howard Stokes of Cincinnati, OH, Thomas Stokes of Hernando, FL, Mark Stokes of Crystal River, FL, Richard Dolbow of Inverness, FL; five grandchildren: Patrick, Cassie, Katie, Bailey, Erin; and great grandchildren: Colton, Camden, Anna and Lucas. Also, close friends and in-laws, Raymond and Beverly Young of Naples, FL In addition to his parent’s, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Stokes and his sister, Alice Stokes.

Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
