Franklin J Grebenc

Franklin J. Grebenc, 80, of Inverness, FL passed away on December 10, 2016 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. He was born in Aurora, MN on July 31, 1936 to the late Frank and Jennie (Micklousich) Grebenc.

Franklin was a co-owner of a motel as well as a construction foreman. He arrived in this area in 1997, coming from Ocala, FL and was a Catholic by faith. Franklin was a member of the Audubon Society and the Native Plants Society. He loved birdwatching and enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, and camping.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mavis Grebenc. Other survivors include his sons Robert Grebenc and his wife Karen of Summerville, SC, and Donald Grebenc and his wife Shirley of Ocala, FL; sister Jane Fore and her husband Gene of Springfield, IL; his 93 year old uncle Joseph Mike; and 4 grandchildren, Amber, Brandi, Jessie, and Lee.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, from 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness. Franklin’s urn will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Inverness, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Franklin’s memory to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center Prevention Research, 4117 E. Fowler Avenue, Tampa, FL 33617
