Carmen Gonzalez

Carmen Gonzalez, 95, Brooksville, FL, former Inverness resident, passed away Oct 30, 2016 at the Maribel Adult Care Home in Spring Hill, FL. Mrs. Gonzalez was born in Central Delicias, Cuba on Aug 9, 1921 and came to Citrus County in 1991 from Queens Village, NY. She was employed in the garment industry before retirement. She enjoyed shopping, entertaining her family and friends, and going on cruises.
Left to mourn her loss are two sons, Edgar Gonzalez and his wife Ruth of Brooksville and Tony Gonzalez and his wife Gaye of Apopka, FL; 2 brothers, Paul Catala and Jose Catala; 5 grandchildren, Michelle Gwizdala and husband George; Jason Gonzalez and wife Tara; Lisa Tonkin and husband Andrew; Diana Buchan and husband Thomas; Cassandra Gonzalez. 3 great grandchildren, Claire Gonzalez, Elijah and Isabella Tonkin; She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Antonio Gonzalez on Nov. 2, 2005, her grandaughter, Jeanine Gonzalez and her 2 brothers, Rafael and Eduardo Catala.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Chas E Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Harvey Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Hills of Rest Cemetery, Floral City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
