George Dennis Lohrmann, age 72, of Hernando, FL passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 while under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto, FL. Dennis was born in Baltimore, MD on April 8, 1944 to the late Matthew F. and Louise R. (Noakes) Lohrman. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. After his military service, Dennis was employed as an Engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration. On December 5, 1980 he married Myrna (Marsh) Shinnamon with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. In 2001, Dennis and Myrna made Citrus County their home after relocating from Beaver, PA. He held memberships in the Benevolent Order of the Elks, West Citrus Lodge # 2693, and the Loyal Order of Moose, Inverness Lodge # 2112. Dennis enjoyed woodworking and model trains, and designed and built his own train garden. He also loved playing golf and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife Myrna, Dennis is survived by his children: Devon Lohrmann and his spouse Jamie of Beverly Hills, FL, Stephen Shinnamon and his spouse Amanda of Aliquippa, PA, Heather Shinnamon and her spouse Cara Martinez of Glen Burnie, MD; grandchildren: Morgan Shinnamon and Reed Lohrmann; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parent’s, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Lohrmann.
Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL. Dennis’s urn will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date.
