Paul Leroy “Augie” Jackson, 88, Nobleton, FL died on Sep 29, 2016. He was born in Detroit, MI to the late Carl and Mable (McMillan) Jackson. Paul was a tool & die maker employed by General Motors Corp. for 34 years before retirement. He came to this area over 20 years ago from Charlevioux, Michigan.
Paul loved biking and he loved the Trail. He would ride his recumbent bike on the trail 35-40 miles at least 3 times a week until October 2015. Over the years, he made many friends while riding and he adopted a part of the Trail, to keep clean and to take care of. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays he rode with his bike group and they would always stop somewhere to eat together. In addition to his biking, he enjoyed playing the guitar, riding motorcycles, platform diving, softball, coaching high school track and sailing his Hobie Cat. Paul was friendly and outgoing, always had something nice to say about people and always had a smile on his face.
He is survived by his son, Matthew Jackson of Nobleton, FL and his daughter Julie Hamilton of Brooklyn, MI; brother, Robert Jackson of Farmington Hills, MI; his grandchildren: Jordan Richardson of Portland, OR and Cori Jackson of Mt. Dora, FL; 2 great grandchildren; his companion of many years, Linda Miller of Inverness and his best friend and caregiver, Arthur Stoops of Nobelton and good friend Jack Rademaker.
