Judith Ellen Hrycaj, age 69, of Inverness, FL died September 21, 2016 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Judith was born on September 15, 1947 in Highland Park, MI to the late Robert E. and Sarah E. (Montgomery) Clay.

In March of 1966, she began dating Stefan Hrycaj. They were married on November 1, 1969 and shared almost 47 years of marriage together. Throughout her life, Judith was employed as an administrative assistant for the banking and healthcare industries. In 1993, she and Stefan made Florida their home after relocating from Detroit, MI. They resided in Jacksonville for 7 years and Orlando for 11 years before moving to Inverness 5 years ago.

A woman of faith, she attended services at the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness. Judith was active in her community and was a member and Treasurer of the Inverness Women’s Club and Chairperson for the Inverness Cultural Heritage Council.

Judith was a mentor to many young people over the years and took a great interest in the lives and well being of others. She was a positive person and a positive influence for many people over the years. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, knitting and watching television and movies. She was an animal lover but, she especially loved cats. Judith will be remembered as a great wife and mother and for her beautiful smile that could light up the room.

Those left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory are her husband, Stefan; son, Nicholas of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Lara of Dearborn, MI; 3 sisters: Sharon Bethancourt of Littleton, CO, Roberta Lapierre of Livonia, MI and Connie Clay Mazurkiewicz of Vincent, OH.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is planned for Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness, with Reverend Ron Pfeifer officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL
