Estella J. Woodard, 89 formerly of Inverness, died September 7, 2016 at Pembrook Place II in Clearwater, FL. Estella was born in Bridgewater, Michigan on September 16, 1926 to the late Lloyd and Helen Grace (VanRippen) Pate. She moved to Citrus County in 1968, and relocated to Clearwater several years ago.
Estella had many jobs during her working years, but later in life she was mainly a homemaker. She loved fishing and working in her yard, taking care of her flowers and enjoying the hummingbirds, fishing, and jigsaw puzzles.
Estella was a Gold Star Mother, having lost her son, Dean Spalding December 15, 1968 in Vietnam. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Grudowski and her husband, Jerry of Beverly Hills; son, Leonard “Joe” Merritt and his wife Betty of Palm Harbor, FL, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to her son, Dean, Estella was preceded in death by sons, Samuel Woodard and Michael Woodard; three brothers; and two sisters.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, Sept 16th at 11:00 AM from St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Citrus Springs, FL. Cremation arrangements by Chas E Davis Funeral Home With Crematory
