Richard E. Brown, age 78, of Wildwood, FL died August 17, 2016 while under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Inverness. Richard was born on December 12, 1937 in Penn Yan, N.Y. to Blanche (Hadsell) Brown and the late Laurence Brown. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. After his military service, Richard was employed by Eastman Kodak for 25 years in the film manufacturing department. On July 18, 1970 he married Elizabeth Defibaugh, with whom he recently celebrated 46 years of loving marriage. Richard and Elizabeth made Wildwood, FL their home 15 years ago after spending 6 years on the road travelling the country in their R.V. together. Prior to their travels, they resided in Penn Yan, N.Y. In his youth, Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later in life he enjoyed a good game of golf. Richard was an extremely talented photographer. He also loved to sing. In addition to his loving wife Elizabeth, those left to mourn his passing and cherish his precious memory are his mother: Blanche Brown of Batavia, N.Y.; sons: Laurence Brown and his wife Ashley of Walton, N.Y. and Darryl Brown of Branchport, N.Y.; daughters: Valerie Morgan and her husband Jeffery of Leon, W.VA. and Celeste Brown of Bangor, ME; brother: Ronald Brown and his wife Barbara of The Villages, FL; grandchildren: Jason, Shay, Justin, Caitlin, Meaghan and Boudreaux; great grandchildren: Ashton, Zoey, Simon, Thayden, Conner and Zoe Jane. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Laurence Brown and sister, Bonnie Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Richard’s memory to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
