Glennell Clyde Black, 86 of Forest Park, Georgia and Floral City, Florida, died Thursday, August 4, 2016 at his home in Georgia. Mr. Black was born in Glennell, Florida on June 6, 1930 to the late Leslie Black and Cora Wilson Black. He served in Korea and Vietnam during his active duty and received the Purple Heart and Army Commendation Medal. After retiring from the US Army, he was a civil service advisor to the Army with the Army Reserve. Mr. Black was a member of the Rex United Methodist Church in Rex, GA. He was a 50 year member of the Floral City Masonic Lodge #133 and the Yaarab Shrine Temple of Atlanta. He enjoyed traveling and coaching little league baseball and football.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Carolyn (Myers) Black; his daughters, Glynda Blackstock and her husband Pete, of Floral City and Gina Dunn and her husband Ron of Locust Grove, GA; seven grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, Cliff Black and Mike Black and his brothers: Martin, Howard, Clifford, Bernard and Raymond.

Graveside services for Mr. Black will be conducted on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Hills of Rest Cemetery, with honors provided by the US Army Honor Team. His grandson, William Norman (USMC) will assist the Honor Guard. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness.
