Judy P Wellman

Judy Patricia Wellman, age 75, of Holder, FL died July 8, 2016 at Citrus Health and Rehab, Inverness. Judy was born on March 12, 1941 in Altoona, AL to the late Agnes Sara (Smith) and James Clinton Johnston, Sr. While she was born in Alabama, she grew up in Michigan after her family moved there when she was a child.

Judy had been a resident of Citrus County for 15 years after moving from Winter Haven, FL. A woman of faith, she was raised in the Baptist Church and later on continued to worship the Lord in the Pentecostal Church.

Judy was married to Michael McCarthy from 1963 to 1971. While they did not remain married, they continued to be the best of friends and had a very special relationship. Judy was then married Mr. Joe H. Wellman for 12 years until his passing in August of 2000.

She was very talented at buying items at garage sales, flea markets and antique stores, refurbishing them to their original glory and re-selling those items. She also loved her beloved Alabama. Judy loved to visit with friends and family and share with them tales of her Alabama upbringing. She was never happier than when she was surrounded by her friends and family. Judy also enjoyed doing crafts in her spare time. She will be remembered as a “cut up” that had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. Judy will also remembered for her “heart of gold” and her giving and kind nature to those in need no matter who they were.

Those left to mourn her passing are her daughter: Michelle (Bobby) Eiland of Holder, FL; her son: James “Jimmy” Entrekin of Birmingham, AL; brothers: Joseph (Pamela) Johnston of Morrison, TN, James “Pete” (Jane) Johnston, Jr. of Geraldine, AL; sisters: Margaret (the late Hubert) Matthews of Livonia, MI, Genell (Kirk) Schryver of Spring Hill, FL, Barbara (Borden) Love of Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren: Bo, Jake, Joey, Bobbi Rae and Molli Beth; several great grandchildren; a great many nieces and nephews who will miss their beloved Aunt “JuJu”; and 3 step-daughters. She was preceded in death by one brother: Farrell Johnston; and one sister: Bonnie Johnston.

Judy’s urn will be laid to rest in Walnut Grove-Altoona, Alabama at a later date. The Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
