Wheaton B. Monroe

Wheaton B. Monroe, age 93, of Lecanto, FL, died on April 10, 2016 while under the care of Brentwood Assisted Living Facility, Lecanto. Wheaton was born October 25, 1922 in Attleboro, MA to the late Charles C. and Jessie A. (Marks) Monroe. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II.

After his military service, Wheaton was employed as a Tool and Die Maker. In 1984, shortly after his retirement, he and his wife Doris relocated from Massachusetts to Beverly Hills, FL. A man of faith, Wheaton attended services at the Community Church of Beverly Hills for a number of years. He is also a former member of the Elks Club of Crystal River, FL and was a member of the Mason’s while living in Massachusetts.

Wheaton was a skilled artist and enjoyed painting with oils and watercolors. He showed his paintings in exhibitions throughout the area and entered some of his works in competitions. Wheaton is a former member of the Beverly Hills Art Guild. He was also an accomplished photographer.

Left to mourn Wheaton’s passing and cherish his memory are his son, Ronald Monroe of Bloomfield, CT; and his son in law, Harry Burniston. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63+ years, Doris and by their daughter, Jean Burniston.

The Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
