FRANK A. “Pinky the Clown” YETNER, 72 of Beverly Hills, died Friday, April 8, 2016 at his residence. Frank was born July 2, 1943 to the late Frank A. and Cecile M. (LaRocque) Yetner, in Providence, RI.

He attended several schools in Rhode Island, joined the Air Force and graduated from the Air Force Police Academy. After his military service, Frank served in the Rhode Island State Park Police for 2 years, then became a Kent County Deputy Sheriff for 5 years. He joined the Sheriff’s Committing Squad for 3 years, then was a State Marshall for 6 years. During that time, Frank went to college nights and weekends, graduating Suma Cum Laude from Roger Williams University with Bachelor Degrees in Business Administration, and Justice Administration. He then spent 14 years as a State Child Protector Investigator.

Frank was active in many fraternal organizations: The Fraternal Order of Police, the York Right and Scottish Right, Chapter Council Commandry, Past Master of Overseas Masonic Lodge, Grand Tall Cedar of Massasoit Forest, Past President of the North East Shrine Clowns, and founder of the North East Clown Institute of Cape Cod in 1989; Life member of the Rhode Island Shriners. He was a shrine clown for 38 years known as “Pinky the Clown”. “Pinky” won numerous first place awards nationally and internationally. He was a member of the Rhode Island Big Brothers Advisory Board, Past President and founder of the Downtown Democratic Club of Inverness, and served as President of the Citrus County Democratic Executive Committee for 2 years. He was a Citrus County Chamber Ambassador, Past President of Citrus Hills Civic Association, and Past President of the Cambridge Greens Property Owners Association.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 30 years, Georga Yetner; his son Michael Raymond (Cynthia) Yetner of Pawtucket, RI; step son, Edward (Karen) Maynard of Warwick, RI; step daughters, Linda (Kevin) McCormick of Cranston, RI and Catherine (Walter) McCully of Cortez, CO; brother, Robert Yetner of Seekonk, MA and sister, Frances Hansen of Beverly Hills, FL; 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life and Eucharistic Mass will be offered Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Shepherd of the Hills Eposicpal Church in Lecanto with Fr. George Conger officiating. Frank’s urn will be laid to rest at a later date in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Citrus & The Nature Coast, PO Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
