Robert David Bourque, 82, of Inverness Florida passed away March 4, 2016 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. He was born in Fitchburg, MA on October 31, 1933 to the late Joseph A. and Evelyn (Wells) Bourque.
Robert was a U.S. Army veteran, and an Electrical Engineer for Fitchburg Gas and Electric Company, which became Unitil, for 30 years. He arrived in this area in 1995, coming from West Townsend, MA, and attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness. He loved working in his woodworking shop, being on the computer, traveling, and repairing anything mechanical.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lorraine Bourque. Other survivors include his son Robert D. Bourque, Jr. of New York City, NY; daughter Jacqueline (David) Amico of Fitchburg, MA, brother Roger Bourque of Ft. Myers, FL, sister Theresa Fitzpatrick, also of Fitchburg, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, March 14, 2:00 P.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service. Robert’s urn will be laid to rest in Massachusetts at a later date.
