Gail Richard Jones, 79, of Dunnellon, FL passed away January 25, 2016 at his residence in Dunnellon. He was born on September 27, 1936 in Logan, Utah to the late William Gail and Alice (Shelton) Jones.
Gail was an airline pilot and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He arrived in this area in 1989, coming from Washington State. Gail attended the Inverness Church of God, and loved church activities. He was a handyman, and enjoyed golfing and fly tying.
He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Arlene L. Jones. Other survivors include his children Steve (Lee) Jones of Greenville, SC., Pastor David (Sherrie) Lucas of Citrus Springs, FL, Cristi (Jerry) Rhodes of Bartlesville, OK, Teresa (Gene) Jett of Lake City, FL, and Dianna (Brian) Davis of Yelm, WA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ladd Jones.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service is scheduled for Monday, 1:00 P.M. at the Inverness Church of God with viewing one hour prior at the church. Interment will follow with military honors at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kindred at Home Hospice, 1320 S.E. 25th Loop, Suite 101, Ocala, FL., 34471.
