Herbert Emmitt Bing of Inverness, FL died on December 15, 2015 in Gainesville, FL at the age of 78. He was born in Chambersburg, PA on June 6, 1937 to the late Herbert R. and Anna (Myers) Bing.
Herbert relocated to Inverness thirteen years ago from Ft. Walton Beach, FL. On February 14, 2005, he married Margaret Brown with whom he shared 10 wonderful years of marriage. He was a a spiritual man and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of The Latter Day Saints, Lecanto. Herbert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. If he called you a friend, he considered you a part of his family and was known to attend and support their grandchildren’s sporting events. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and cruising with family and friends. Herbert also loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory are his loving wife, Margaret Bing; He was also a beloved father of four daughters, Deanna (Kelly Adkins) Goodyard of Gulf Breeze, FL, Dawn Rader of Freeport, FL, Kimberly (Daniel) Hillard of Crestview, FL and Kelley Smith of Crestview, FL; one sister, Virginia Clapsaddle of Maytown, PA; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a large extended family. A funeral service to honor Herbert’s life will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015, 1:00 p.m. at The Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. Bishop Jerry Campbell from the Church of Jesus Christ of The Latter Day Saints, Lecanto will conduct the service. The family will receive friends in visitation beginning at 12:00 until the hour of service. Burial with full military honors rendered by the MacDill Air Force Base Honor Guard, will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
