Leocadia “Lillian” Gorecki, of Inverness, FL passed away peacefully on December 8, 2015 at 90 years of age. Lillian was born on June 8, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Stanley and Agnes.

In 1978, Lillian and her husband Eugene, relocated to Citrus County from Riverview, MI. She was employed as a cashier for Kroger Grocery store for much of her life and was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. Lillian was a member of the Lion’s Club for a number of years and greatly enjoyed playing bingo. She was an excellent seamstress and spent much of her spare time making arts and crafts.

Left to cherish her memory and mourn her passing are two daughters, Ruth Gleason of Inverness, FL, Mary (Thomas) Horner of Buckeye, AZ; one son, Thomas (Janice) Gorecki of Front Royal, VA; three grandchildren, Tamara (James) Word, Lorrie (John) Neander and Carrie Herron; six great-grandchildren, Austin, Breeanna, Chloe, Emily, Grayson and Kaitlyn. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Eugene.

A Memorial Service of Remembrance will take place on Tuesday, December 22nd, 11:00 a.m. at The Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL. Service will be conducted by Father Tim Cummings of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Friends and family may gather for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, at a later date.
