John J Sullivan

John Joseph Sullivan, 82, of Crystal River, FL passed away November 8, 2015 at his residence. John was born on September 20, 1933 in Boston, MA to the late Dennis J. and Margaret G. (Mundy) Sullivan and came here in 1992 from Londonderry, NH.

He was employed for 35 years with the Postal Service as a Postal Inspector and was a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills where he was a Lecturer and active in the Legion of Mary. Other affiliations included Inverness Elks Lodge No. 2522 where he was Past Exalted Ruler and District Deputy; VFW Post 4252 (Life Member); former member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians; Knights of Columbus Council 6168, and American Legion Post 155 of Crystal River.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Marguerite (Hanlon) Sullivan; 3 children, Bonnie LaPilla and husband, Jeffrey of Brooksville, FL; Dennis Sullivan of Manchester, NH; Mary Sullivan of Lecanto, FL; 2 brothers, Robert Sullivan of Cape Cod, MA ; James Sullivan of Norwood, MA; 6 grandchildren, Caila Daziel, Alexis Catania, Erica Catania, Thomas Sullivan, Allison Sullivan, and Lauren Sullivan; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many devoted friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 13, 9:00 A.M. from Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills with Fr. Cesar Petilla, celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Florida National Cemetery . Reposing hours will be at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The Knights of Columbus will conduct their service at 3:30 PM and the Inverness Elks Lodge will conduct their service at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are being accepted by Hospice of Citrus & The Nature Coast, PO Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464 or the Alzheimer’s Organization, PO Box 1939, New Port Richey, FL 34656-1939
