MARIE COFFMAN, age 91, Floral City, died September 20, 2015 under the care of the staff of Citrus Health and Rehab and her loving family members. Marie was born on November 10, 1923 in Canton, PA to the late Lazelle and Emma (Jenkins) Thomas.
As a girl, Marie and her twin sister were cheerleaders at their high school. She loved ice skating and playing basketball. She married Randolph Coffman in 1948 and remained with him until his passing in 2006 after 53 years of marriage. Marie arrived in this area in 2009, and was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Peggy (James) Ephraim of Floral City and Larry (Nancy) Coffman, Chesapeake, MD.; grandchildren Marline (Todd) Wimberly-Chaltry, Jack Wimberly, Brian (Donna) Coffman, and Steven Coffman; and great-grandchildren Cooper and Calvin Coffman, Zachary Wimberly, and Alex Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Marie’s name to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Marie’s inurnment will be at a later date at the Florida National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved late husband.
