Helen Marie Deets, 83, of Inverness, FL passed away September 6, 2015 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Inverness. She was born on September 19, 1931 in Forest Hill, MD to the late Russell E. and Edith I. (Ward) Zealor.
Helen was a devoted homemaker, and arrived in this area in 1981, coming from Dundalk, MD. She loved cooking, and enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, LeRoy T. Deets, Sr. in 1999; also her sisters, Emma Robinson, Kathryn Derabow, Gladys Jones, Hazel Crouse, and Margaret Diegert. Survivors include her daughter Karen Elaine (James) Davis of Inverness; sisters Dorothy Raffield and Elanore Gilley; and grandson Eric Russell.
Services for Helen are scheduled for Thursday, 9:30 A.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness. The family will be receiving friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will occur at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Helen’s name be made to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464.
