ALMA KOSTER, age 75, Inverness, died September 3, 2015 at her residence under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus and Nature Coast. Alma was born on May 13, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to the late George and Ethel (Rozelle) Smitte.
On August 30, 1957 she married Edward Koster. Alma and her husband moved to Florida in 1995 from Selden, NY. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Alma was a passionate reader and spent many years collecting and reselling rare children’s book. She cherished time spent with family and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles with her husband.
Alma is preceded in death by one son, Ronald Koster. Left to cherish her memory and mourn her passing is her husband of 58 years, Edward Koster; her daughter, Allison Koster, Inverness; sons, Gary (wife-Susanne) Koster and Kevin (wife-Sandra) Koster, both of Farmingville, NY; sister, Aileen (husband-Eddie) Stoermer, Inverness, FL; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Chas E. Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 8 at 10:00 a.m. to honor Alma’s memory. Visitation will begin at 9:30 with interment to follow the service at Florida National Cemetery.
