JANET L. NAHMIAS, age 83, of Inverness, passed away August 30, 2015 at Arbor Trail Rehab under the care of Hospice of Citrus and Nature Coast, with her husband at her side. She was born on August 6, 1932 to Angelo and Jennie Fuggi.
Janet worked at Strouse-Adler and American Tube Bending Company before entering retail business. She served as head bookkeeper at Brooks Drugs, King’s Dept. Store, Woolco Dept. Store and Walgreen’s Drugs. She was skillful in crafts, with a vivid imagination that she used to create unusual projects. She won numerous awards and ribbons for her displays. She retired to Inverness in 1991.
Janet was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters Vera Buffo, Catherine Parret, Josephine McMahon, Mary Wierzbicki and brother, Angelo Fuggi. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jack, and son, Gary, of Garland, TX, and sister Eleanor Adams. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Janet will be conducted on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, with Fr. Erwin Belgica, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Inverness. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, P.O. Box 241670, Beverly Hills, FL 34464.
