Joseph Albicocco, age 91, Hernando, died August 23, 2015 surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice of Citrus and Nature Coast. Joseph was born on December 17, 1923 in Newark, NJ to the late Louis and Maria Albicocco. He served our country in the United States Army during WWII. Joseph was a meat cutter with Union #464; most of his working career for a meat packing company in Newark, NJ and then in Colorado, working in King Soopers. He was a wine connoisseur who also enjoyed playing Black Jack and Poker. Joseph was an excellent cook, a talent which was enjoyed by his family and friends. Joseph was a parishioner at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 20 years, Shirley Albicocco;
stepson Fred and wife Maxine Crogle, Hernando; stepdaughter Sharon and husband James O’Connor, Denver, CO; grandchildren Melissa Crogle and Scott Crogle, Meghan O’Connor and Seamus O’Connor, Anthony Kreuter, Kristen Catanzaro and great-granddaughter Alana Melendez. Services will be held at Amigone Funeral Home in Tonawanda, NY with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kenmore, NY. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with local arrangements. The family requests memorial donations in Joseph’s name to Hospice of Citrus and Nature Coast, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464 in lieu of flowers.
