GEORGE J KING, JR, age 72 of Inverness, died in the arms of his daughter and son on August 19, 2015 at Citrus Memorial Hospital. George was born September 23, 1942 in Oak Park, IL to the late George J. King, Sr. and Gloria (Schmidt) King. In 1955 he moved to Florida with his family. George was owner/operator of a brush removal and hauling business. He was a member and Sergeant at Arms of ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education), Lake County Chapter. George enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing with his son and being out in nature. George was a fan of the Florida Gators and enjoyed attending the games with his daughter. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Rena (Brown) King; his sons David (Sabrina) King of Inverness, and Danny King of Jacksonville; daughters, Holly (Travis) Tatman of Citrus Springs, and Debra (Jeff) Smith of Lake City; his sister, Patricia Jowers of Clearwater. He leaves behind his beloved granchildren, Noah, Gracee, Juliet, Savannah, Lily, Dawson, Paige, Nicholas, Devin, Kobe, Jennifer and Ashley. A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family invites friends to join them at 9:15 AM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory to form the procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in George’s memory to ABATE.
