Theo R Edwards Jr

Theo Russell Edwards, Jr., 79, Floral City died at Citrus Memorial Hospital on May 27, 2015 following an extended illness. Russell was born on December 7, 1935 in Turkey Creek, FL to the late Theo R. and Hazel (Robbins) Edwards and came to this area in 2003 from New Port Richey. He was employed for 34 years with Publix Supermarkets as a manager in their meat department. He served our country in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of J. Dewey Hawkins Masonic Lodge No. 331 in Oakland Park, FL for 33 years with a dual membership at Floral City Masonic Lodge No. 133, former member of the Inverness Golf & Country Club and Inverness Moose Lodge. He was an active member of the Withlapopka Civic Assocation. Russell was an avid golfer and fisherman and was an accomplished egg art artist. Left to mourn his loss is his wife, Nan Edwards, Floral City; 2 brothers, Allen G. (Nancy) Edwards, Homosassa; Dennis (Toni) Edwards, Dixie, Idaho; 3 sisters, Joanne Townsend, Gainesville, FL; Jan Cribbs, Odessa, FL; Rena (J.R.)Phillips, Pinellas Park, FL; 2 grandchildren, Wendy Oros of Naples, FL and Brandy (Jason) Pierce, Battle Creek, MI and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Carson in 1995. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 1st at 2:00 PM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Dairold Rushing officiating. Masonic Services will follow conducted by Memorial Lodge No. 19. Burial will follow in Red Level Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until the hour of service. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 12502 North Pine Drive, Tampa, FL 33612 in lieu of flowers.
