Richard A. Bass, 67, of Floral City, Florida passed away May 17, 2015 under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Lecanto, FL. He was born on September 23, 1947 in Clearwater, FL to the late Madison G. and Mary E. (Anderson) Bass, Jr. Richard arrived in this area in 1978 coming from Clearwater, was a Christian by faith, a U.S. Navy veteran, and, with his wife Sandra, owned and operated Sleepy Hollow Bar and Restaurant in Floral City for 10 years. He was also an ordained minister, and was fondly known as “Reverend Rich” to his many friends and patrons of Sleepy Hollow. Richard was very family oriented. He loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, and living life. He will be greatly missed by his family, and his community. Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Sandra Bass of Floral City. Other survivors include children Kevin (Vicki) Bass of Pennsacola, FL, Angela Pino of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Kimberly Gentry of Inverness, FL; Step-children Lance and Tawney; brother Wayne; 12 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Private cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
