Kathryn J Schendorf

KATHRYN J. SCHENDORF, age 94, Hernando, FL, died May 15, 2015 surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. A native of Perth Amboy, NJ, Kathryn was born on January 11, 1921 to the late John and Anna Zanko. She was a homemaker, but also worked at Macy’s for many years. She was very active in her community and her church, both in New Jersey and Florida, where she was a parishioner at Our Lady of Grace in Beverly Hills. She was a great baker, enjoyed reading and crocheting and gifted her family and friends with many of her beautiful creations. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Mark (Joan) Schendorf, Longwood, FL and John (Jean) Schendorf, North Brunswick, NJ; her daughter Joyce (Bob) Miller, Hernando; brothers John and Joseph Zanko, both of Perth Amboy, NJ; grandchildren Kenneth, Heather, Sarah, Tara and Dylan and great-grandchildren Daniel, Michaela and Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John Schendorf and her two sisters, Mary Zanko and Stephanie Svizeny. Riggs Funeral Home in Forked River, NJ will be assisting the family with services and burial. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is in charge of local arrangements.
