On May 6, 2015, Edna “Faye” Bailey of Inverness, formerly of Ft. Pierce, slipped into the loving arms of her Lord for the journey to her eternal home. Faye, age 73 was under the care of Hospice of Citrus and Nature Coast at the time of her death. Her husband was present at her bedside as she began her final journey. Faye was born on January 22, 1942 in Borden, IN to the late Tommy and Lula Mae (Ooley) Young. Faye had worked various retail positions and at her retirement was employed by Sam’s Club in Ft. Pierce, FL. Faye took great pride in her American Indian heritage. Her paternal grandmother was a full member of the Tohono O’odham tribe of southern Arizona. The children of the western reservations held a special place in her heart. For many years, she would collect clothing, shoes, school supplies for the children, along with blankets and durable medical supplies for the elderly. Every year or two she would load up the van and the travel trailer and head west. She made several trips to the Pine Ridge and Rosebud reservations in South Dakota and to the Blackfoot reservation in Montana. Faye was a talented craftswoman in jewelry making, knitting, crocheting and sewing. She enjoyed gifting these items to friends and family. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 27 years, Thomas Bailey; son Michael (Kim) Bailey, Port St. Lucie; daughter, Tracy Lyn (David) Campos, Conroe, TX; brothers Michael (Marsha) Jackson, Salem, IN and Raymond Bailey, Aurora, IL; sisters Sue (Ray) Hendrix, Vinemont, AL; Carmen (Mike) Brawders, Folson, LA; along with several cherished nieces and nephews and eight grandchildren Michael, Megan, Caitlyn, Brett, Jacob, Joey, Rachel and Steven, along with eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Wayne Bailey. Faye also delighted in the presence of her dog, “Ronan”. Services and burial will be arranged by Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL at a later date. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is in charge of local arrangements.
